The BC SPCA’s West Kootenay Branch (formerly Trail Regional Branch) is offering cat adoptions at half price until July 21.
“We are getting ready to transition into our new facility, and we’d like to find loving homes for the wonderful cats currently in our care before we pack up as moving can be stressful for animals,” says Danielle Jackman, manager of the West Kootenay SPCA.
Jackman was referring to the move into the new $2 million West Kootenay Community Animal Centre that is in the final stages of construction in Castlegar.

“We’re hoping this promotion, presented by Hill’s Science Diet, will encourage anyone who has been considering cat adoption to take the next step and make it a reality,” says Jackman.
The regular adoption fee for an adult cat is $130. It’s $155 for a kitten (under six months) and $65 for an older feline (over eight years).

The SPCA is hoping to make the move at the end of July and be open to the public the beginning of August.
