With COVID restrictions still in place during the planning stage, the Kootenay Gallery of Art had to get creative in order to pull off their biggest annual fundraiser — Soup for the Cultured Soul.

The event usually includes a large gathering, local chefs serving up their creations, bowls made by local potters to take home and lots of mingling. This year, the gallery brought the event to homes. Gallery volunteers delivered the bowls, soups, buns, chocolates, wine and bonus bowl cozies supplied by the Castlegar Quilters Guild right to hosts’ front doors. The event was a hit with tickets selling out quickly.

The featured soups this year were curried butternut squash by The Nineteenth, cream of garlic by Kim’s Creations, Thai red curry from Chef’s Choice, lobster bisque from Black Rooster and Mediterranean vegetable from The Grateful Table.
