This thriving, well-respected guild has at least 42 years of organized history in the Castlegar area. For many years locals and tourists alike have been enjoying the goings on at their shop within the Doukhobor Discovery Centre.
Well, things are about to change what with the partial move last Sunday, January 19, 2014. Staying within the Centre, just a few steps down the sidewalk, are the new digs. This larger space, now three rooms, is indicative of the activity and growth of the weavers and spinners.
This new facility boasts new floors, fresh paint, more windows and new fixtures.
The membership is growing, and more equipment being added, including the addition of 20 wonderful, stackable comfy chairs due to the generosity of member Kerri Saari and her son.
This meeting saw the installation of a new president, Karen Grieves, secretary Sandy Donahue, while position of treasurer remains in the capable hands of Jacquie Hamilton. Other positions within the membership have also been agreed to by various members according to their skills and interest.

Anyone interested in joining the guild is asked to come to any meeting on the third Wednesday of the month to the new facility from 10 a.m. - noon, followed by bag lunch and show-and-tell. There are many books and equipment at our disposal and threads to purchase.
