Nursing students put on Rice and Beans Fundraiser

Selkirk College nursing students put on a Rice and Beans fundraiser to raise money to go to Guatemala for a practice experience on March 30 at St. Rita's Church in Castlegar.

The third year nursing students will be the sixth group to head down to Guatemala and work with partner groups AMES Association of Women in Solildarity, Mayan People's clinic of La Esmeralda, the Cooperative of Nuevo Horizonte, and the Community of Sipikapa.

The evening featured a performance by the Doukhobor men's choir, dinner, a silent auction, raffles, and a video presentation by former groups that have travelled to Guatemala.
