Members of the Ootischenia Fire Department (OFD) have been hard at work training and protecting their community.

OFD recently held a ceremony to recognize the accomplishments and milestone of its crew members.

Chief Len Coats said that due to COVID-19 a banquet could not beheld, but that he felt the members should still be officially recognized for donating their family and personal time to keep their community safe and for being there for their community in times of need.

• 5 Years Service Pin — Cory Medland, Mike Engel, Jason Wichmann, Russell Lundquist

• 10 Years Service Pin — Mike Pereversoff, Cody Kabatoff

• 15 Years Service Pin Award — Teresa Cymbal

• 20 Years Federal Exemplary Service Medal — Tony Goulart, Doug Chernoff, George Hamm, Len Coates

• 25 Years BC Provincial Exemplary Governor General Medal — Tony Goulart, Doug Chernoff

• 35 Years Service Bar — Chris MacBain
