The day was not without its challenges in drawing a crowd, as another event in the Slocan Valley offered an alternative plus a lot of concern was devoted to a fuel spill in the region.
All the same, July 27th, with clear sunshine and enough of a breeze to make the day more comfortable, was a successful one for the third annual Kootenay Festival in Oooteschenia, across from the West Kooteany Regional Airport. Artisan and food booths plus a day full of stage entertainment added up to a winning formula.
