Around 400 people gathered at the Doukhobor Discovery Centre on Saturday to sample a dozen varieties of borshch.
The soups were judged by Jason Danney, Henny Hanegraaf and Darcy Bell.
First place went to Kelsey Coolin with the Kootenay Society for Community living taking second place and Jessica Smith in third.
Visitors also had a chance to vote for the People's Choice winner, choosing Brad MacKay's variety as the winner.
