RDCK recognizes firefighters for service

Firefighters from Robson, Ootischenia, Kaslo, Balfour, North Shore, Pass Creek and Slocan honoured.

A group of volunteer firefighters from the Regional District of Central Kootenay were recognized last week for their many years of service.

• Chris MacBain (Ootischenia) and Fred Schneider (North Shore) have served for 35 years.

• Rick Grant (Robson) has served 30 years.

• Doug Chernoff (Ootischenia) has served 25 years.

• Tony Goulart, George Hamm and Len Oates, all from Ootischenia have served 20 years.

• Aaron Bebelman (Pass Creek), Tom McRae (Pass Creek) John Gates (Slocan) Jeff Grant (Robson) Leford Lafayette (Ootischenia) and Carol Morton (Balfour) have all served 15 years.

• Mike Prive (Pass Creek), Orion Cooper (Kaslo), Kevin Smith, (Kaslo) Niko Bekker (Kaslo) and Mike Pereversoff (Ootischenia) have served 10 years.
