The Robson Fire Department (RFD) is mourning the loss of one of its founders, Cliff Churches.
“Cliffe was an amazing man who always put community first. He and his family sacrificed plenty for the community of Robson and we thank him and his family,” said RFD in a statement.
Churches led the steering committee that brought the fire department to Robson.
“His tireless efforts to make this dream a reality is nothing short of inspirational. We will never forget Cliffe and his contributions to his community and the Robson Fire Department,” said RFD.
The statement also included a note from Churches’ children:
“The Robson Fire Department was born through an idea that our father had that the Robson area needed fire protection. He set out with his family, friends and the residents of Robson to make it come alive.
“Dad was so proud of this accomplishment and we would like to thank all the volunteers that have kept his dream alive for the past 42 years. It make us children proud that the creation of the Robson Fire Department is an integral part of our father’s legacy.”
