Slocan Valley Youth Host Fundraising Dinner and presentation of the classic Dr. Seuss’s film “The Lorax.”
On March 2, from 5 to 9 p.m. at Passmore Hall local Slocan Valley youth have organized a fundraising dinner to support the protection of the Slocan Valley, celebrate Dr. Seuss' birthday and Read Across America Day. By donation
Why celebrate Dr. Seuss?
Dr. Seuss shows a love of children and learning. Also, his use of rhyme makes his books a good tool for teaching young children the basic skills they need to be successful. When we celebrate Dr. Seuss and reading, we send a clear message to children that reading is fun and important.
There will be dinner, cat in the hat cookies and desserts, a silent auction, an open stage and the showing of the Lorax. Come and help fundraise for the environment and see this educational film that celebrates the wisdom of Dr. Seuss.
The proceeds will go to the Sinixt Nation and the Perry Ridge Water Users Association, two groups who work really hard to protect the environment and in particular the mountains and the rivers that we all love to play in.
