A reverential ceremony was performed June 18 near the confluence of the Kootenay and Columbia Rivers, as First Nations members gave thanks to the Creator for the priceless historical gift of salmon. Prayers were said, asking that fish ladders may be added downstream enabling the return of migrating salmon to local waterways.
