Thursday’s Peace Café to focus on ‘Finding Safe Haven for Refugees’

The East Kootenay Friends of Burma will host an evening of dialogue on responding to a global call to host refugee families.

The East Kootenay Friends of Burma will host an evening of dialogue on responding to a global call to host refugee families.

A recently settled Burmese family, who lives in Kimberley, will also be in attendance to talk about their experience.

Dialogue will focus on current state of refugees in our world and myths, facts and fears about refugees in Canada.

This Peace Café takes place at 7 p.m. on Thursday, June 9, at the Mir Centre for Peace (Castlegar campus, 301 Frank Beinder Way).

Admission is by donation.
