The Twin Rivers Community Choir is inviting new members as they kickoff their fall performance season.

Castlegar’s community choir will begin singing in person at New Life Church (602 7th Street, Castlegar) on Thursday, Sept. 8, from 7-9 p.m. Everyone is welcome to join.

The choir will be preparing a variety of seasonal songs with the goal of a public concert event in December, back by popular demand.

Singers can expect to jump right into classics old and new, and to have a ton of fun right from the very first few minutes.

“It is proven that group singing creates community, social bonding and can help fight off the effects of our prolonged isolation,” says the choir’s director Christina Allen. “The only requirement is a positive mental attitude and a big dose of patience!”

Singers should come prepared to move freely, have fun and make a joyful noise. The choir is open to adult singers of all ages and abilities.

Learning tracks are provided to assist choristers in learning their songs, so ability to read music is not a requirement. Details about the Twin Rivers Community Choir and registration information can be found at twinriverschoir.com/join.
