By Friday afternoon the tabulations had been made and it was learned that customers had helped the Castlegar A&W raise very close to $3,200 toward multiple sclerosis research.
The largest single fundraising component for Multiple Sclerosis research, according to on-screen sources on Thursday, August 22, is the A&W "Cruisin' for the Cause."
This event marked the fifth anniversary of the effort to raise money toward the search for an MS cure.
"Our goal today was $5,000," said Castlegar store owner Shirley Henderson during a momentary lull in the action. "The company's goal, nation-wide, is $1.5 million which would make it $5 million over the past five years."
"Seventy-five thousand people in Canada have the disease," added A&W Regional Manager Carole Bayard.
