The City of Castlegar is seeking a variety of support volunteers and businesses as it prepares for a family-friendly Canada Day celebration.
The free event will take place at Millennium Park & Ponds on July 1 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
It will kick off with the singing of O’ Canada, followed by a full day of activities for all ages including free hamburgers (while supplies last), Canada Day cake, live entertainment, an interactive Kids Play Zone and Canada Day gifts for the kids.
“This is a time for us to come together as a community and celebrate everything we love about Canada,” said Councillor Sue Heaton-Sherstobitoff, chair of the Cultural and Civic Pride Committee. “It’s going to be a joyful day for all ages, and we’d love to see everyone out at Millennium Park & Ponds.”
The city is looking for self-contained food vendors, local artisan vendors, entertainers and performers, event-day volunteers and sponsors.
The city says sponsors will receive recognition throughout the event campaign including social media, website, newspaper, and other promotional materials.
If you are interested in participating contact Councillor Sue Heaton-Sherstobitoff at sheatonsherstobitoff@castlegar.ca or 250-608-2655.
