Castlegar & District Community Services Society (CDCSS) is hosting some exciting free events for during Victims and Survivors of Crime Week happening Nov. 14 - 20.

Writing workshop: Nov. 16, 10 a.m. - 12 p.m. Enjoy a workshop about writing towards mental well-being where therapeutic uses of writing are explored. Open to anyone interested in supporting this issue and who’d like to connect with others. A pen, notebook, mug, coffee/tea and muffins will be provided. This workshop will be offered in person if people have a vaccine passport, but if there’s enough interest it can also be offered a second time by Zoom. Limited space available.

Yoga workshop: Nov. 17, 10 - 11 a.m. Take part in an online yoga class. The class is a very gentle flow yoga class that people with no previous yoga experience should be able to enjoy.

Puppet workshop: Nov. 17, 6 - 9 p.m. Have fun with a mask and story building puppet workshop. Learn some puppet animation skills, after you sculpt a mask and begin to create a story. Within the carefully curated safety of the group participants will begin to unpack some of those big feelings and emotions around this issue. Pizza and beverages will be served. Youth (12+) and parents welcome. Vaccine passport required. Limited space available.

Visitors are welcome to drop by Community Services anytime during office hours to learn about the different programs offered and to enjoy free swag.
