Volovsek pays tribute to a key figure in Castlegar’s history

Culmination of countless hours – a completed project unveiled at Castlegar Library

A special event was held Sunday evening at the Castlegar Library for the opening of an exhibit by Walter Volovsek – a tribute to Edward Mahon. Volovsek has delved heavily into the historical significance of Mr. Mahon - known widely as the Father of Castlegar. Volovsek is pictured with Marolyn Mahon of Mercer Island WA.

The name of Edward Mahon is honoured in both Castlegar and North Vancouver. Tributes are to mounted in in both cities. The Castlegar display is up at the library now.

Walter Volovsek has compiled a fascinating, comprehensive photographic exhibit, as well as a pair of books on the subject of Mr. Mahon.
