Vote for Castlegar in best small town contest

Castlegar will face off against Fruitvale in round one of the CBC contest.

Castlegar is in the running for the best small town in the province in a contest put on by the CBC.

From March 15 to April 25 people can cast their votes in The Search for B.C.’s Best Small Town.

The contest will last seven weeks and the winner will be chosen by online voting in an elimination-style vote.

A different section of the province will be up for a vote each day from Tuesday to Friday and the day to vote for Interior communities like Castlegar will be Thursdays.

In round one Castlegar will face off against Fruitvale.

“Castlegar is a small city with big heart and big ideas. It’s a central place where limitless opportunity meets lifestyle,” says Mayor Kirk Duff. “We are the heart of the Kootenays – a hub from which to explore life’s adventures. We think Castlegar is BC’s Best Small Town and know you do too.”

You can cast your vote online at cbc.ca/bestsmalltownbc. Voters are then encouraged to share the link on social media and use the hashtag #BestSmallTownBC.
