The Twin Rivers Community Choir will be performing an outdoor concert series called “A Fresh Start!” at Kinnaird Park on June 22 and June 23 at 7 p.m. each night.

The concerts will also feature the Castlegar Community Children’s Choirs – including the younger Shooting Stars and older Northern Lights groups.

“We are incredibly proud to bring choral music to the community once again,” says musical director Christina Allen. “We have over 50 adult and youth singers who have been working very hard to prepare a tremendously entertaining program.”

The Twin Rivers Choir has been one of the few choral organizations in B.C. who remained active throughout the pandemic, and audiences have enjoyed a variety of digital choral presentations over the past few months.

“Our goal throughout the pandemic was to maintain our momentum and preserve the strength of our organization,” says Chris Sykes, the choir’s board president. “We are tremendously grateful to our community, and we wanted to offer a free concert as a thank you to everyone for their support during the past few months.”

Concert goers will be treated to beautiful harmonies, toe-tapping tunes and a varied program of group and solo numbers with something for everyone.

Audience members should bring a lawn chair and dress for the weather. In the event of inclement weather, the concert will be hosted at New Life Church and notices will be posted.
