Kootenay Co-op Radio is having only one Membership Drive this year.

This is a big departure from how we have done things in the past. We were finding that our volunteer programmers, who already donate so many hours each week to making quality local radio, where getting burned out from two Membership Drives a year.

We have put a lot of thought and research into how to make one membership drive work for us. We need to make 25 per cent of our operational budget from this drive.

This year we are also planning to move our transmitter, since we had to remove our transmitter from the top of the hospital we lost alot of coverage.

So our transmitter is moving to the top of Elephant Mountain. This move will help give us total coverage in town as well as on the highways as well as making our signal stereo. No one likes static.

Many organizations, groups, and members of the public rely on KCR to help them promote the work they do. In return we rely on support from these groups to do their part in funding us.

Kootenay Co-op Radio is heading into our One and Only Membership Drive live on-air week starting Saturday, June 17 to Friday June 23.

Listen in for great prizes – did someone say a trip to Vancouver? Look for a kick off party on Saturday, July 17 at the station from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. featuring acts such as: Chickadee, Molly Sweeney, Eva Tree & Friends, The Devil’s You Don’t and others.
