The Rossland Rotary Club is once again hosting the B.C.-based band Maritime Kitchen Party.
The band was last here in December and though Sheree Sonfield, PR chair for Rossland Rotary, wasn’t able to attend the show, she heard it was a good time.
“These fellas are from the Maritimes, obviously, and they had every single person in the Miners’ Hall dancing last December,” she says.
The Maritime Kitchen Party Dance will take place on Saturday, March 24 and will once again be at the Miners’ Hall. Doors open at 8 p.m. and music and dancing start at 9 p.m.
The event is 19-plus and there will be adult refreshments available for purchase.
Tickets are $20 and available at Powderhound Sports or online at rosslandrotary.org/MKP.html.
Sonfield expects that the event will sell out, so encourages people to get their tickets sooner than later.
Proceeds from the event will support Rossland Rotary’s programs and donations within the community, including the Rossland Youth Action Network (YAN), the Rossland Museum, local student participation in Rotary International Youth Exchange, Adventures in Citizenship and Adventures in Technology, the Rossland Junior Curling Club, the Mike Pistak Memorial Rotary Scholarship, and a few international projects for disaster relief, disease prevention, education, literacy and clean water in under-developed countries.
And each year new projects and programs are evaluated and funded, depending on how much is raised from the various events and fundraisers Rossland Rotary holds.
Sonfield said everyone’s participation in Rotary events is greatly appreciated.
