Fishing derby on Arrow Lakes reels in big fish and big prizes

The 22nd Annual Banjo's Fishing Derby took place on Arrow Lakes on Nov. 9.

This year 112 anglers from the West Kootenay and as far away as the Okanagan cast their hooks into the cold fall waters above Castlegar.

The largest fish was caught by Todd Chahley. His 7.6 pound Dolly Varden won him a cash prize of $5400.

Second place went to Larry Postnikoff for his 7.5 pound rainbow trout. His prize was $2700.

Third place and $900 went to Sean Brand for his 7.48 pound Dolly.
