A wildfire northwest of Syringa Park has grown since a thunderstorm ignited three fires Wednesday in the West Kootenay.

The fire was listed at 12.5 hectares by B.C. Wildfire Service as of Friday morning. The fire, which was first listed at 0.009 hectares, is considered out of control by BCWS.

Another fire that started Wednesday is being held at the Needles ferry landing, while one more that started east of Riondel is no longer listed by BCWS.
