The Castlegar and District Chamber of Commerce (CDCOC) has issued a new warning after a suspicious email that claims to be connected to the Chamber is circulating again.
The emails first started appearing back in January and have shown up once again in the last few weeks. The emails are being sent to chamber members and local residents.
They typically include the subject line "Follow-up regarding the Distribution/Members list."
The emails originate from different addresses that usually include a personal name. They offer to sell a "Distribution/Members list" or "Registrants/Member List" related to the CDCOC.
The CDCOC says it never sells or shares its members list.
"Your privacy and trust are extremely important to us, and we are actively working to address this issue," said Tammy Verigin-Burk in an an emailed statement.
If you have received this email or any similar communication, you should delete it and refrain from clicking any links or sharing any personal information.
If you have any doubts or concerns about a message that appears to come from the CDCOC, Verigin-Burk encourages you to contact the chamber office directly.
