5 calls keep Castlegar Fire Department busy on Remembrance Day

Fire Department responded to a wide range of calls

Remembrance Day 2022 was a busy day for the Castlegar Fire Department (CFD).

CFD started the day out supporting Remembrance Day ceremonies at Kinsmen Park. Members marched in the parade, Fire Chief Sam Lattanzio placed a wreath and Chaplain Gerry Rempel spoke to the crowd.

But it wasn’t long before the crew switched their dress blues for turnout gear.

CFD responded to a vehicle fire at Millennium Park, a structure fire, a medical call and an activated fire alarm — all on the same day.

By the end of October, CFD had responded to 653 calls during 2022.
