Danger trees along Broadwater Road in Robson are being removed after one fell and crushed a moving vehicle last week.

The accident took place last Tuesday, near Marshall Road.

“We’ve ordered a dangerous tree assessment of that area of the road and they’ve already started working on taking down some of the dangerous trees that have been posing a risk in that area,” said Jeff Grant, fire chief for the Robson Fire Department.

Firefighters from the Robson Fire Department were among those who responded to the accident last Tuesday.

“We attended the scene and found that a tree had fallen down and landed on a vehicle,” said Grant. “Both the occupants that were in the vehicle were treated for minor injuries and transported to the hospital.”

Neither Grant nor Sgt. Chad Badry of West Kootenay Traffic Services could confirm which hospital the two injured occupants of the vehicle were taken to, but Badry confirmed that both occupants sustained minor injuries.
