Officials recovered a man's body from Cottonwood Creek near the mouth of Kootenay Lake Saturday afternoon.
A passerby noticed a body in the creek early Saturday morning and notified city works who then contacted the Nelson Police Department. They were on the scene at 9 a.m.
Just past 2 p.m. the NPD, Nelson Fire Department, RCMP and coroner were creekside to pull the body from the water.
Foul play isn't suspected though police are still investigating. They have yet to identify the man.
Search and Rescue volunteers were called in to help comb the area for evidence
