A convicted drug trafficker has been found in breach of her conditional sentence and will spend the rest of her sentence in jail, according to Castlegar RCMP.

Barb Nelson of Castlegar sold cocaine to two undercover officers in March 2008. In June of last year, she was convicted and was sentenced to an 18-month conditional sentence which included three months of house arrest.

“Since her sentencing, the Castlegar RCMP and the Crime Reduction Unit have been conducting checks on Nelson to ensure her compliance with her conditions,” Cpl. Dan Pollock said. “Nelson has been found to not be obeying all of her conditions and on March 30 … her conditional sentence order was revoked.”

Nelson will now remain in jail until Jan. 3, 2012.
