A Castlegar-area woman has been sentenced on drug trafficking charges related to a Dec. 2020 incident in Robson.

Police executed a search warrant at a property in the 3700 block of Broadwater Road on Dec. 1, 2020 and took three people into custody.

In Nov. 2022, 33-year-old Robyn Poznikoff faced a trial by judge and the Honourable Justice Lyster found she was guilty of possession of methamphetamine and fentanyl for purposes of trafficking, and possession of a prohibited conducted-energy weapon.

On July 19, the court sentenced Poznikoff to a conditional sentence of imprisonment of two years less a day with probation to follow for 12 months and a firearm prohibition for 10 years.

The conditional sentence means Poznikoff will not actually face jail time. She will spend the first 12 months on house arrest, with certain exceptions. For the remaining 12 months of the conditional sentence, Poznikoff will be subject to a 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. curfew, again with certain exceptions.
