A Castlegar man is facing new charges just one week after being released from police custody.

Erik Larsen, 41, is now back in custody after being released on Sept. 8, according to RCMP Sgt. Monty Taylor.

On Sept. 15, Castlegar RCMP responded to a report of verbal threats allegedly made at a residence on 5th Avenue.

Taylor says the officers at the scene located, identified and arrested a suspect.

Criminal charges of uttering threats to cause bodily harm were approved by the BC Prosecution Service against Larsen the following day.

Larsen made an appearance before the provincial courts and remains in custody.

Larsen had previously been in police custody from Aug. 17 through Sept. 15 in relation to unrelated matters before the courts, which are still ongoing.

His next court appearance is scheduled for Sept. 23 in Castlegar Provincial Court.
