Castlegar RCMP are investigating a vehicle fire that also damaged a building on Saturday, Feb. 20.

RCMP and the Castlegar Fire Department responded at approximately 2:45 p.m. on Saturday to a vehicle fire at Eighth Ave. and Third St.

“When we got there it was fully involved,” said fire chief Gerry Rempel.

The vehicle was a 1995 Chevy pickup truck, and there was also damage done to the adjacent building.

The incident has been deemed suspicious in nature. Police are speaking to witnesses, but encourage any other persons with information on this matter to call them at 250-365-7721, or call Crimestoppers at 1-800-722-TIPS.
