The City of Castlegar’s sani-dump at the Castlegar Visitors Centre, at 1995 6th Avenue, is now closed.

The sani-dump was not originally scheduled to be in service in 2022. Fortunately, the city was able to open it for a few months before the location becomes an active construction zone.

The site will see the construction of the much-anticipated Castlegar and District Chamber of Commerce’s “Confluence” space — a new 7,000 square foot building which will bring economic growth, tourism, and local business supports together. Learn more at castlegarconfluence.com.

Residents and visitors have other sani-dump options at the Husky Gas Station (1415 Columbia Avenue) and Syringa Provincial Park (5570 Broadwater Road).

“We know this is a popular amenity in the community and we are actively planning for a new sani-dump facility,” says Sam Shine, Castlegar’s operations manager. “Staff are currently investigating options and we will be discussing them with council later this year.”
