The City of Castlegar is looking for feedback in relation to the Merry Creek wildfire that started on Canada Day.

The fire prompted evacuation orders within city boundaries and in the Regional District of Central Kootenay including the evacuation of the Castleview Care Centre.

The fire burned about 20 hectares on the edge of the city, but fire crews were able to keep the fire from destroying any structures.

This was the first wildfire event the city has gone through so the city wants to know what residents think about what went well and what could be improved.

You can share your thoughts through the City of Castlegar’s Facebook page, by emailing wildfire@castlegar.ca or by calling 250-304-8133.
