COVID-19 cases are on the rise again in Castlegar with 21 new cases reported during the week of Oct. 3 to 9, according to the BC Centre for Disease Control.

The increase comes after 11 new cases were reported between Sept. 26 to Oct. 2 and just three cases from Sept. 19 to 25.

Meanwhile Trail saw 36 new cases during the same time period, which is actually a big drop from the previous two weeks when there were more than 70 new cases each week.

Cases in Nelson also dropped from 31 the previous week to seven in this reporting period.

Across the West Kootenay there were 107 new cases.

Robson Community School remains on the Interior Health school exposure list with new exposure events added for Sept. 30, Oct. 1, 2, 4, 6, 7 and 8. IH reports a school exposure after a student or staff member tests positive for COVID-19. If no new exposure events occur, the school is removed from the list 14 days after the last exposure date.
