Group was calling for an end to lockdowns and mandates

People and placards lined Castlegar’s Columbia Avenue on Saturday, Jan. 22.

About 400 people attended a protest that lasted several hours, according to Castlegar RCMP Sgt. Monty Taylor.

The event was held in conjunction with similar protests around the world calling for the end of COVID-19 lockdowns and vaccine mandates.

Taylor says the RCMP did not issue any violation tickets related to the event.
