Residents south of 17th Street in Castlegar may notice a reduction or increase in water pressure on Friday, May 13, as the City of Castlegar works on the water system.

The city says the work is being done to ensure optimum performance, maintain water quality, and increase storage of water for fire fighting.

Exact pressure changes will vary and all homes will continue to be fed by pressures within the city’s acceptable guidelines.

Residents around 23rd Street and Columbia Avenue may notice temporary water quality changes. These can be cleared by running your cold water tap on full until it runs clear. This may take several minutes to accomplish.

Work will begin at 7:30 a.m. and includes traffic control at the intersection at Columbia Avenue and 24th Street so minor delays should be expected.
