Fire destroys garage

A fire on 4th Ave. destroyed a garage/shop and three vehicles last week.

Castlegar Fire Department responded to a structure fire in the 3100 block of 4th Ave on Wednesday, Nov. 18. The call wasreceived at 6:15 a.m.and firefighters were on the scene until around 11:00 a.m.

A detached garage/shop and three vehicles were fully involved when the fire department arrived. Three fire engines and 16fire crews were on site, however crews found it only necessary to use two of them. There were no injuries to either theresidents or fire crew members.

The cause is still under investigation.
