Helpful event for job-seekers this Saturday in Castlegar

Interactive job fair hits town after a two-day warm up in Trail

The BC Jobs Plan is taking its show on the road, hitting the West Kootenay late this week.

With stops in Trail (Thursday and Friday at Waneta Plaza from 9:30 a.m. to 9 p.m.) and the Castlegar Community Complex on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The plan is acting as match-maker for employers and workers.

This is an interactive job fair, described by Provincial Minister of Jobs, Tourism and Innovation, Pat Bell as a chance for job hunters to, "...interact with employers and regional training authorities to discuss opportunities and career paths.”

The exhibition is mobile and began touring last Sunday in Salmon Arm, but there are 29 stops left on the tour.

“We hope to meet as many British Columbians as we can,” Bell said. “There are jobs and there are people looking for work.”
