Jacquie Hamilton was awarded with the Castlegar 2011 Citizen of the Year honour at a ceremony on Wednesday night at St. Rita's Hall. The ceremony was hosted by the Castlegar Knights of Columbus and was hosted by Bob Saari.
Castlegar Mayor Lawrence Chernoff, Ed Conroy, Miss Castlegar Maria Sourkeroff, and several of Jacquie's friends got on stage and told of her many years of dedication and service to many organizations and groups in the Castlegar area.
Jacquie was presented with a plaque from host Saari and cut a celebratory cake.
