The Harrop Creek fire was 2,126 hectares in size as reported by the Southeast Fire Centre on Monday.

She said here are 47 firefighters, four helicopters and three pieces of heavy equipment at the fire.

On Monday night there were three fires started by lightning about 24 kilometres northwest of Castlegar in the Ladybird area.

“Wildfire personnel are on site working on them,” Kashman said. “One of them is under control and they are feeling pretty confident about that one. They are assessing them, and they are all quite small at this point.”

The largest of the three is .01 hectare.

The Rapid Creek fire, which has prompted an evacuation alert in the region of Poplar Creek north of Lardeau, was at 500 hectares with no growth overnight.

Galena Bay, showed no growth or change overnight, with 16 personnel and two helicopters and two pieces of heavy equipment on that fire. The fire and smoke are highly visible from Highway 23. Crews are working to build and widen guards.
