UPDATE: Nelson Police ask for help in search for missing woman

UPDATE Nov. 8, 2021

The Nelson Police Department is asking for help in locating Rain Shields.

The 56-year-old, who also goes by Bella Black, has not been heard from since the morning of Oct. 31, according to an updated police statement issued Nov. 6.

The police department has received several tips from the public indicating that Ms. Shields was last seen in the area of Marsden Road and Grohman Forest Service Road on October 31.

Residents of the Sproule Creek area are encouraged to check their outbuildings and outlying properties. In addition, the Nelson Police Department are requesting that anyone that was on the Grohman Forestry Service Road or in the immediate area on October 31, contact the Nelson Police Department at 250-354-3919.

Shields is described as approximately five-foot-seven with a medium build. She was last spotted in the area of the 600 block on Highway 3A in Nelson.

Nelson Police and friends are concerned for the well-being of Ms. Shields and wish to locate her as quickly as possible.

Anyone who has seen or spoken to Shields recently is asked to contact Nelson Police Department at 250-354-3919 or the local RCMP detachment at 250-352-2156.
