Local artist Jordan Perkins has a new idea to help support the Community Harvest Food Bank.

He is donating one of his paintings for a raffle hoping to raise up to $10,000.

He came up with the idea last Christmas when the food bank sent out a plea for more donations for Christmas hampers. It was too late for his idea to work at Christmas, but he decided he would do it for this year to help ensure that the food bank doesn’t come up short again.

All of the proceeds from the raffle will go directly to the food bank.

The large painting measures 48 inches by 48 inches.

Tickets are $2 each and can be purchased at Boston Pizza, where the painting is on display, and at the Castlegar Chamber of Commerce.

The drawing will take place Sept. 18, 2017.
