A pedestrian was struck on the south end of the Brilliant Bridge in Castlegar Monday morning, July 31.
The Castlegar RCMP responded to the accident at approximately 8:30 am.
According to a press release issued by Sgt. Laurel Mathew, NCOi/c Castlegar RCMP, “Witnesses on scene stated that an elderly male parked his vehicle at the end of the bridge and got out. As a truck was going past, the male stepped out into traffic, getting struck by the truck.”
The man was taken to hospital with what is believed to be non-life threatening injuries.
“Neither speed nor alcohol are suspected to be factors in this accident, and there were no injuries sustained by occupants of the truck,” said Matthew.
Local RCMP are continuing to investigate.
