Policeman's Ball a sold out hit

If you didn't get a ticket early for the Kootenay Boundary Regional Detachment RCMP Regimental Ball you didn't get in. The event, which took place Saturday evening at the Castlegar Community Complex, was a total sell out with proceeds going towards the Canadian Cancer Society.

If you didn't get a ticket early for the Kootenay Boundary Regional Detachment RCMP Regimental Ball you didn't get in. The event, which took place Saturday evening at the Castlegar Community Complex, was a total sell out with proceeds going towards the Canadian Cancer Society.

"We are anticipating giving the Cancer Society around about $10,000," said Cst. Jeremy Knight. "We had about 200 people in attendance on Saturday night. We also have to thank all the volunteers from the Cancer Society, from the Rotary Interact Club, and some moms and dads who drove people home."

Playing at the ball was the band SwingSationS. There was also a dinner and live and silent auctions.

"A good time was had by all," said Knight. "We also want to thank all those businesses that gave prizes for the auctions."
