On Sept. 17, members of the Castlegar Crime Reduction Unit attended a remote location of the Rialto Forest Service Road after receiving a tip about an outdoors marihuana growing operation. Members were able to locate the growing operation approximately one kilometer off of the road.
The outdoor growing site contained 77 marihuana plants which were ready for harvest. The street value of the marihuana which was seized and destroyed is approximately $10,000.
