Castlegar residents are being asked to keep their eye out for suspicious activity around vehicles after four catalytic converters were stolen over the last few days.

The thefts occurred during the night time on July 5 - 6 from two passenger vehicles and two RVs.

The incidents occurred in Ootischenia and in the Woodland Park area.

Catalytic converters reduce toxic vehicle emissions and contain platinum, palladium and rhodium, all metals that have greatly increased in value in recent years.

If you see anything suspicious, call the Castlegar RCMP detachment at 250-365-7721.
