Castlegar police are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect in a break and enter.

On Monday, Aug. 21, Castlegar RCMP received a report of a break, enter and theft to a business in the Kootenay Crossing Mall on Columbia Avenue.

A lone suspect forced entry through the rear business door at approximately 12:30 a.m. early Monday morning.

Surveillance cameras captured the suspect inside the business and leaving the business, only to return again 45 minutes later.

The suspect took an undisclosed amount of cash.

The male suspect is described as having a medium build and dark brown to black hair cut in a buzz style. He was wearing all dark clothing and red gloves as well as an article of clothing, possibly green camouflage in color, to conceal his identity.

Police are asking anyone with information or who possibly recognizes the suspect to call Castlegar RCMP at (250) 365-7721.
