Inaccurate information was published in the West Kootenay Advertiser's October 20 edition.The gaffe was pointed out to the WKA by a candidate for the directorship of Rural Area E, Christopher Stevenson.
The story had it that races were underway in Areas A and D but that three other directors were to be returned by acclamation. Stevenson stresses there is indeed a race in Area E.
The candidate said he felt the mix-up likely related to details retrieved by media outlets (including the West Kootenay Advertiser) from the civicinfo website, and the timeliness of that information.Our apologies to the candidate, and to readers for the inaccuracy.
