Rec complex contract awarded

Parts of Castlegar Community Complex off limits until Aug. 10

The banquet hall, meeting rooms, and kitchen at the Castlegar and District Community Complex are expected to be closed until August 10 for renovations.

The Regional District of Central Kootenay has awarded a $134,000 contract for the work, which involves washroom upgrades and new kitchen/concession area flooring, to Hil-Tech Contracting of Rivervale. DJM Contracting of Rossland had the other bid of $143,000.

The current kitchen flooring contains asbestos, but its removal is a separate project.
