A Rossland man has been arrested on 14 counts of theft of mail in Castlegar.Canada Post in Castlegar had been noticing a recent trend of customer complaints of not receiving mail items addressed to area residents.
They contacted the RCMP on Nov. 27, and after an internal investigation by both Canada Post and the RCMP, the 36-year old was arrested.
The man, who police could not name, worked as a part-time contractor for Canada Post. He is scheduled for his first court appearance Jan. 4, 2012 in Castlegar.
